St Margaret of Antioch: a friendly parish church in the heart of Durham.

Welcome to St Margaret's website.  The people of St Margaret's, Durham, offer a ministry of worship, witness and hospitality in the Crossgate area of central Durham.  St Margaret's stands in the Anglo-Catholic tradition of the Church of England, whilst seeking to be inclusive and creative in the spirit of a classic Anglican Parish Church.  We have a mixed congregation of local people and those who come to us from further afield.  We are blessed with a gem of a building begun in 1153 and retaining many of its Norman features.  It has been described as the most prayer-friendly church in Durham
